First Home Owners Grant

If you are buying or building your first home, you may be eligible to apply for the First Home Owner Grant (FHOG) whereby the government gives you money toward your first home. The FHOG applies to residential dwellings only and does not apply to vacant land, business premises, holiday houses or renovations to an existing home. There are no income or assets tests to qualify for the FHOG.

Stamp duty concession

Stamp duty is a tax payable on all residential properties. First home buyers may qualify for the First Home Owners Rate (FHOR) which is a reduced rate for purchase of a home under $600,000.

Shared Home Ownership Scheme

Share the cost of your new home with the State Government who never lives there, never comes for inspections, or even drops in! Through the Opening Doors scheme, you can share up to 30% of your mortgage.
